What is freight transportation?
Freight transportation is the movement of goods — raw material, finished products or machinery — from one business location to another by road, rail, air or sea. In India most freight moves by road, because a truck can load at the factory gate and deliver to almost any PIN code. This page covers our road transport. For rail, air and sea, see Multimodal Logistics.
Our road transport services
Full Truck Load (FTL)
You book the whole truck. It loads at your site, runs direct to one delivery point and unloads once. FTL suits large loads, fragile goods and anything with a fixed delivery date.
Part Truck Load (PTL)
You pay only for the space your goods take. Your cargo shares the truck with other goods going the same way. PTL suits smaller loads that will not fill a truck.
Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC)
Machinery, transformers and steel structures that are too long, wide, tall or heavy for a normal truck. We survey the route, handle the permits and move the load on high-capacity trailers with hydraulic axles. See ODC Handling.
India to Nepal and Bhutan transport
Direct trucks from Delhi, Kolkata and other hubs to Kathmandu, Birgunj, Biratnagar and Bhairahawa. They cross at Raxaul, Jogbani and Sonauli, where our own staff handle customs. See India to Nepal Transport and India to Bhutan Cargo.
FTL vs PTL: which one should you book?
FTL means Full Truck Load. PTL means Part Truck Load (also called LTL, Less than Truck Load). The right choice depends on how much of the truck your goods fill.
|
Point |

PTL (Part Truck Load) |
|---|---|---|
|
You pay for |

Only the space or weight you use |
|
Best for |
Big loads going to one place |
Small loads, many destinations |
|
Handling |

|
Transit time |
Faster — runs direct |
Slower — waits to fill the truck |
|

Lower, less handling |
A little higher, more handling |
|
Cost per kg |
Higher for small loads |

Simple rule: if your goods fill most of a truck, FTL is usually cheaper per kg and safer. If they fill a small part, book PTL.

Frequently asked questions
What is freight transportation?
Freight transportation is moving goods for business — raw material, products or machinery — by road, rail, air or sea. In India, road is the most used mode because trucks reach almost every PIN code.
What is the full form of PTL and FTL?
PTL is Part Truck Load: your goods share a truck with other cargo. FTL is Full Truck Load: you book the whole truck for your goods alone.
What is the difference between FTL and PTL?
In FTL you pay for the whole truck and it runs direct. In PTL you pay only for your share of space, and the truck stops at hubs to load other goods. FTL is faster and safer; PTL is cheaper for small loads.
How is road freight charged in India?
The rate depends on distance, vehicle type, weight or volume, the route (hill and border routes cost more), loading and unloading, and tolls. Send your load details for a written quote.
Do you provide all-India transport service?
Yes. We deliver across 30 Indian states from 65+ offices, and into Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Can you send goods from Delhi to Nepal?
Yes. Trucks run from Delhi to Kathmandu and other Nepal cities through Raxaul or Sonauli, and our own border staff clear customs on the way.
What documents do I need to send goods by truck?
A tax invoice or delivery challan, and an e-way bill when the goods are worth more than ₹50,000 (some goods are exempt). For Nepal exports, export documents are also needed — see our Nepal customs document checklist.
